Professional Work Experience:

1.     Founder and Director  Pan-American Medical Association (501(c)(3) Nonprofit)2024 – Present

●      Established a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities by providing medical supplies and resources to underserved regions across the United States, the Americas, and the Caribbean.

●      Successfully coordinated the donation and shipment of over $517,000 worth of critical medical supplies, including surgical equipment and pain medications, to Cuba in response to post-pandemic shortages.

●      Partnered with organizations like Global Health Partners, Operation Rainbow, and Not Just Tourist to ensure effective distribution and maximize impact in communities with urgent healthcare needs.

●      Demonstrated exceptional leadership and logistical skills by building networks, securing resources, and managing the organization’s mission-driven operations.

2.     The Pediatric Teaching Hospital "William Soler", 2022-2023

●      Gained daily clinical experience with pediatric patients across General Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology, and Urology wards in Alta Havana, Boyeros.

●      Conducted patient history taking, medical interviews, charting, and physical exams.

●      Practiced differential diagnosis and participated in on-call shifts every 5 days (guardias) during General Pediatrics rotation.

●      Focused on technical skills, including interpretation of normal laboratory values.

●      Participated in a Student Anesthesiology Program with direct operating room experience.

3.     The National Teaching Hospital “Enrique Cabrera”. 2019-2022

●      Completed daily clinical rotations with adult patients in Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, and Urology at Alta Habana Hospital in Boyeros.

●      Performed patient history taking, medical interviews, charting, physical exams, and differential diagnosis.

●      Participated in on-call shifts every 5 days (guardias), gaining hands-on experience in acute care settings.

●      Developed technical skills including blood sampling, medication administration (IM, IV, SC), and interpreting lab values.

4.     Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 2008-2015

a.     Critical Care EMT 

●      Served as a Critical Care EMT with Rural/Metro Ambulance across Snohomish, King, and Pierce Counties in Washington State.

●      Collaborated with Registered Nurses during inter-facility transports and 911 emergency responses to deliver high-level patient care.

●      Applied expertise in electrocardiography to initiate 4-lead and 12-lead EKGs, and assisted with pump and ventilator setup.

Leadership, Public Health Experience: 

1.     Supply Donation Campaign Organizer 08/2021                                                          

▪       Organized and led a successful supply donation campaign, delivering over $5000 worth of operating room supplies to hospitals in Havana, Cuba, thereby augmenting medical resources in underserved communities. 

2.     Vaccination Campaign (organizer) and Clinical Trial Participant                                 05/2021

▪       Organized and actively participated in the vaccination campaign at Salvador Allende student residence, promoting the administration of Cuban-developed vaccines Soberana-02 and Abdala, while serving as a case study for their clinical trials. 

3.     Medical Student Volunteer for COVID-19 Pandemic Screening Outreach     02/2021-05/2021

▪       Conducted daily home visits to 100+ houses in the Altura de La Habana neighborhood in Cuba, participated in novel public health interventions, including COVID-19 isolation centers, and contributed to the National Vaccine campaign.
