Growing up in Los Angeles, California, in a marginalized community, I developed a deep passion for public health and medicine early on. My journey led me to the Latin American School of Medicine (LASM) in Havana, Cuba, where I pursued my Medical Doctorate. Witnessing the severe health disparities during the 2007 earthquake in Lima, Peru, ignited my dedication to improving healthcare access and quality, especially in underserved regions. An avid free weight lifter, I enjoy strenuous weight lifting and find it to be a great way to stay grounded and focused. With a commitment to global health, I strive to create lasting impacts through innovative medical solutions and collaborative efforts, always open to new experiences, cultures, and ways of thinking.
